Facial Aesthetics

The most well-known and popular dermal filler treatment, Botox® has established its excellent reputation through years of use and many patients who swear by it. Stubborn lines, wrinkles, and creases may be effectively diminished after an injection treatment.

What Is Botox®?
Botox® is a dermal filler treatment, injected via a fine needle, which restores a youthful
appearance to the skin, and is regularly used to minimize fine lines and wrinkles that result
from the process of aging. Also called Botulinum toxin type A, Botox® is produced from a
refined bacterium and works by temporarily paralyzing the facial muscles, giving skin a
smoother, firmer and more youthful appearance.
Benefits of Botox®
Botox® has maintained its popularity because patients have found that the treatments
consistently offer the following benefits:
   • Temporarily smooth out wrinkles, creases, and fine lines
   • Impart a firm, radiant appearance to the skin
   • Boost self-esteem by achieving a more youthful appearance
   • Control the intensity and frequency of migraines
   • Control symptoms of overactive bladder
   • Decrease the production of underarm perspiration
Who Is a Good Candidate for Botox®?
Anyone seeking a more youthful appearance may be a good candidate for Botox® treatment.
Research has found that this is an excellent preventative treatment for younger skin to ward off
wrinkles as you age. It is also an appropriate treatment for mature skin that has lost its
elasticity and firmness. If you are unhappy with the presence of wrinkles, creases, and fine
lines, Botox® may be your solution.
How Should I Prepare For Botox®?
When scheduling your Botox® consultation with A NEW YOU, please let us know if you have
received any other injections over the prior four months, as well as whether you take certain
medications, such as aspirin and other blood thinners, allergy medications, sleep aids,
NSAIDS, or muscle relaxers. You may have to temporarily suspend medications while
receiving Botox® treatments.
How is Botox® Administered?
Botox® is administered by injection using a very thin, fine-gauge syringe. The number of
injections required for each treatment depends on the number and severity of wrinkles,
creases, and fine lines. In most cases, a single treatment, performed in our office, lasts about
four to six months, and patients regularly return for ongoing treatments. Over time, the facial
muscles become retrained, and patients require fewer follow-up treatments.
How Much Does Botox® Cost?
Botox® is an elective cosmetic procedure, so usually health insurance providers will not cover
it. Call today to schedule your consultation.

What Are Injectable Fillers?
Injectable dermal fillers are non-surgical treatments that correct such problems as sagging
skin, flattened facial contours, wrinkles, lines, creases, folds, and thin lips caused by the aging
process. Dermal fillers come in a variety of formulas that target specific problems and
temporarily restore youthful appearance for periods up to two years.
Benefits of Injectable FillersInjectable fillers are administered via an outpatient procedure that
is minimally invasive, and there is no recovery period required to interrupt your everyday
routine. The healing process from the injectable filler treatment is quick, and most patients
resume their regular activities immediately following treatment. Injectable filler treatments
usually take less than one hour to administer. Some patients may require several treatments,
and some treatments produce  results gradually, but you will notice improvement immediately
after a single treatment.
Who is a Good Candidate for Injectable Fillers?
If you are concerned about any of the following skin conditions, injectable fillers might be a
good option for you:
   • Wrinkles, lines, creases or folds on any part of your face
   • Visible crow’s feet, laugh lines, smile or frown lines
   • Deep creases from the nose to the corners of your mouth
   • Thin, sagging, or undefined lips
   • Vertical lines above the upper lip, usually as a result of smoking
   • Acne scars
   • Sagging skin
How Should I Prepare for an Injectable Filler Treatment?
Little to no preparation is required before your injectable filler treatment, however, prior to your
consultation, mention whether you are taking any medications, particularly any medications
that affect blood clotting, such as aspirin, NSAIDs or blood thinners. Also inform the doctor as
to whether you are taking medicines that affect your immune system, or if you are experiencing
any type of skin reaction or irritation such as cold sores, cysts, pimples, rashes, hives, or an
infection. It may be recommended to delay treatment until any reaction or irritation has passed.
How Are Injectable Fillers Administered?
We will offer you the option of applying a topical anesthesia to prevent any discomfort during
your injectable filler treatment. To treat fine lines, the filler must be delivered to the outermost
skin layers, whereas deeper lines, wrinkles and creases require delivery to the deep,
innermost layers. We will carefully and precisely inject the dermal filler into the areas of your
face where treatment is warranted. A very thin fine-gauge needle is used to inject the fillers,
and some patients report a stinging sensation during insertion and slight possible discomfort
afterward, but you will be free to continue your day’s activities immediately following treatment.
How Much Do Injectable Fillers Cost?
Injectable filler treatments constitute an elective cosmetic procedure. Therefore, most health
insurance providers will not provide coverage for the costs. Call today to schedule your
